Abstract art, an art that does not attempt to represent an accurate depiction of a visual reality but instead use shapes, colors, forms and gestural marks to achieve its effect. Strictly speaking, the word abstract means to separate or withdraw something from something else. The term can be applied to art that is based an object, figure or landscape, where forms have been simplified or schematized. Abstract art is often seen as carrying a moral dimension, in that it can be seen to stand for virtues such as order, purity, simplicity and spirituality. Since the early 1900s, abstract art has formed a central stream of modern art.

Someone once told me a story I'll never forget, a very useful story to carry in life. Imagine you are in a organized, peaceful Japanese garden, it is mesmerizing by its beauty and harmony. But suddenly while you walk, you see a disturbing pile of waste, right there, on the white pebbles in the middle of your path... Yes, an unexpected disappointing scene. Right there comes the question: either you choose to focus on that useless waste and get more and more frustrated about the situation, OR you can keep your lovely walk going with your mind in the harmonious garden. This can be applied to life, anytime, anywhere, where big decisions are not involved, but rather for the small insignificant obstacles we don't need to spend energy on. I hope it helps you, as it is helping me.

Action painting (1940–1950s): The action painter abstract expressionists were directly influenced by automatism. Automatism (c.1920): Inspired by Freud’s idea of free association (the desire to reveal the unconscious mind), artists such as Joan Miro and Max Ernst created automatic paintings. Homage a Cy. Abstract art, composition, harmony, harmonious abstraction. Somehow it means something while it does mean nothing. Like everything. A complete connection of nonsense making sense... One image, one moment, one eternity. Ancient Rome through modern and contemporary visions. Mediterranean textures, linen support, joyful colors, broad white space left for the imagination.
