Fluid Light, Femme méditerranéenne
- 160 x 161 cm
Composed of a plexiglass on the front and a printed support at an inch from the plexiglass to create the effect of fluid light in between the elements. On the transparent plexiglass there are mediterranean tones painted with a special acrylic medium that remind us of the water currents. On the solid support behind the plexiglass there is black/white print of a woman we can perceive through the waves represented on the plexiglass. As a painter and photographer interested in society and ecosystems, I like to combine both art forms on one platform to recreate the relationship with the abstract realm and our down to earth selves. The wooden frame consolidates the elements exposing a refreshing new scenery for the spectator. In light of the rapid changes undergoing today’s world, my vision for the future of women’s empowerment must, first of all, respond to the deep-rooted changes in the demographics of our nations, and new opportunities for the positive transformation of the status quo.

It isn't hard to find convincing reasons to travel along the Mediterranean! Ernest Canut's velocipede. The arrival in Palma in February 1869 of the first bicycle in history marked the zero kilometer for sport in the Balearic Islands. Flowers, nature, spring colors, booms and blooms of a fresh start. Landscapes in my mind, nature in our soul inside-out. Among leading modern artists portrait painting on commission, that is to order, became increasingly rare. Instead artists painted their friends and lovers in whatever way they pleased. Most of Picasso’s pictures of women, for example, however bizarre, can be identified as portraits of his lovers. At the same time, photography became the most important medium of traditional portraiture, bringing what was formerly an expensive luxury product affordable for almost everyone. Since the 1990s artists have also used video to create living portraits. But portrait painting continues to flourish.

When looking carefully with attention to details at our environment, nature, fauna, flora, the elements that surround us, awaken our senses, and create a sensation of depth, an understanding that is expanding in that same moment we keep on exploring that gratifying depth in the meaning of life.
