Fluid Light, Femme méditerranéenne
- 160 x 161 cm
Composed of a plexiglass on the front and a printed support at an inch from the plexiglass to create the effect of fluid light in between the elements. On the transparent plexiglass there are mediterranean tones painted with a special acrylic medium that remind us of the water currents. On the solid support behind the plexiglass there is black/white print of a woman we can perceive through the waves represented on the plexiglass. As a painter and photographer interested in society and ecosystems, I like to combine both art forms on one platform to recreate the relationship with the abstract realm and our down to earth selves. The wooden frame consolidates the elements exposing a refreshing new scenery for the spectator. In light of the rapid changes undergoing today’s world, my vision for the future of women’s empowerment must, first of all, respond to the deep-rooted changes in the demographics of our nations, and new opportunities for the positive transformation of the status quo.

The Manual Oracle and Art of Prudence (El Oráculo Manual y Arte de la Prudencia) from the 17th century resonates strongly in our modern age of information and disinformation where lies have already gone around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes. Every fool is fully persuaded that he is right, and the more wrong his judgment, the more tenaciously he maintains it. Nothing demands more caution than the truth: it is the lancet of the heart. A single lie destroys an entire reputation for integrity. The deception is considered treason and the deceiver as a traitor, which is worse. However, not all truths can be said: some for our own good, others for the good of others.
